The aim of the project is to provide support in the form of safe shelter and basic assistance to internally displaced families (IDFs) affected by the armed conflict within the Gaza Strip.

As part of its activities, the Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH), in co-operation with the local organisation Palestinian Agricultural Development Association (PARC), will provide life-saving assistance in the form of safe shelter and basic household supplies to 300 particularly vulnerable families (around 1,680 people) in Gaza City.

The project will focus on providing kits that contain repair items for makeshift shelters and basic bedding kits that will enable displaced families to improve the safety of their shelters and enhance their sense of dignity and privacy.

Shelter repair material kits will enable families to reinforce damaged structures on their own and provide protection from the wind and rain, whereas bedding items will improve sleeping conditions and reduce the health risks associated with exposure to low temperatures.

In total, the support will cover around 1,680 people.

The project is co-financed under the Polish development co-operation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
