\n The Polish Humanitarian Action mission and vision <\/div>\n

The Polish Humanitarian Action was formed out of the desire to aid \u2013 a belief, that every human deserves dignity and help. Our organization believes in the power of welfare, which thanks to the support of other people, can move mountains.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Polish Humanitarian Action was <\/span>forme<\/span>d by Janina Ochojska, who has been inspired by the actions of the French organization<\/span> Amiti\u00e9 <\/span>Pologn<\/span>e<\/span>, which aided the Polish during war. In 1992 Janina Ochojska, alongside the EquiLibre organization (organization formed out of the former Amiti\u00e9 Pologne) traveled to besieged Sarajevo<\/span>. This travel brought upon the impulse to form the Polish Humanitarian Action. <\/span><\/b>It was then, that the decision to send the first Polish humanitarian aid convoy to war-ridden Sarajevo was taken, after the breakup of Yugoslavia. The first convoy left Poland on <\/span>December 26<\/span>th<\/span> 1992, and PAH began sending aid to other towns of former Yugoslavia, such as Belgrad and Kosovo. Some of the primary principles involved in the forming of our organization<\/span> have included <\/span>solidarity and the belief, that even if we ourselves need aid, we may always aid those who are in a worse situation than ours.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Simultaneously, the founders and members of the Polish Humanitarian Action were deeply convinced that it is unfeasible to base humanitarian aid on impulses and emotions. They wanted to form an organization that would help empathetically, and at the same time professionally, long-term and transparently. Which will put people in the centre of action and support them in shaping subjectivity, responding to their real needs with the awareness that we do not exist in isolation from the planet and nature. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The foundation of our vision<\/strong> is the strife for the creation of a world, in which people are ready to act, have the knowledge and tools to live with dignity. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The mission of the Polish Humanitarian Action is to help those suffering<\/strong> as a result of armed conflicts, the climate crisis and disasters. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

PAH acts with respect for the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence.<\/span><\/b> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

We form an organization open to the world and multiculturalism, focused on solving particular problems and specifically focusing on people<\/strong>. We aid local communities in gaining resilience to climate turmoil, while taking care of local ecosystems based on the experience of the recipients of aid.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\n The people are the most important factor for our organization \u2013 those that we aid, all our employees, all the donors, and all of the communities in which we operate. We build long-term relationships, upon the foundations of trust and respect. <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

We do not want to evoke the feelings of guilt and pitifulness in our donors. In our social campaigns, we do not prey on emotions or remorse. At the Polish Humanitarian Action, we believe that every person has the right to a dignified life and aid in crisis situations. That is why we act quickly and effectively – so that as many people as possible receive the aid they need in the shortest possible time.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The <\/span>Principles<\/span> of the Polish Humanitarian Action<\/span><\/span> The<\/span> Foundation of the Polish Humanitarian Action has been formed on the <\/span>principles<\/span>, such as humanitarianism, independence, impartiality and neutrality. These are the main <\/span>values<\/span> of the International Red C<\/span>ross and Red Crescent Movement \u2013 a humanitarian organization with 160 years of experi<\/span>ence in aid.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

After 30 years of bringing aid to the people, The Polish Humanitarian Action has worked out and cemented the primary principles behind our organization\u2019s actions. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Respect<\/span><\/b> \u2013 PAH puts respect for human dignity first, especially in times of crises and armed conflicts. This applies not only to the PAH members and the communities we support, but to all the people we meet alongside our way. We support diversity and inclusion, and we care about the well-being and safety of our team members. We value open communication and discussions, taking into account different points of view, conducted with respect for the needs and values of both parties. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Development<\/span><\/b> \u2013 we create an environment conducive to skill improvement, we appreciate innovations and optimizations that allow our organization to act more effectively. Those principles are our signpost; they define how we work and what we strive for. When forming a team, we make sure that we share joint goals, principles and beliefs \u2013 thanks to that, we can be sure that we take proper care of the recipients of aid at every stage and understand their well-being in the same way. \n Ethical Norms of the Polish Humanitarian Action <\/div>\n

In our work, we prioritize care for the people in need, and adherence to the principles such as respect and responsibility. We have put in place appropriate tools, such as the Code of Ethical Conduct, to ensure a working environment free from abuse, violence and discrimination.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\n HUMANITARIANISM <\/div>\n
\n Simultaneous activity for the benefit of the Albanian community in Ka\u010danik and the Serbian community in \u0160trpce states the basic principles of humanitarianism, which are impartiality and assistance to all those in need, regardless of their origin, race or nationality - according to the PAH report <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

\n In the ever-changing reality, the continuity of mobilisation and respect for everyone despite their differences remain unchanged in PAH's activities. Its essence is in consistency of responsible aid. \n The mission is conducted with the belief, that the first step in helping is to take an interest in the situation of another person, to try to understand their perspective. \n NEUTRALITY <\/div>\n
\n We were one of the few organizations working in Palestine, that declared a neutral stance on the situation. We tried to emphasize at every step that we are neither pro-Palestinian nor anti-Israel. As<\/span> a public benefit organization, we are subject to regular inspections by external institutions established for this purpose, e.g. <\/span>the Committee for Public Benefit. We are constantly settling grants, as we are covered and inspected by the purchase control system.<\/span><\/b> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

We regularly review the procedures introduced in our organization to prevent violations of employee duties and rights. Our work is based on the trust of our donors and the trust of the communities we support. <\/span>To this end, why we have introduced the “ZERO tolerance for corruption and fraud” policy.<\/span><\/b> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

We have also implemented the “ZERO tolerance for any form of sexual abuse and violence”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> policy.<\/strong> We protect the whistleblowers who report irregularities and violations. With their aid, we prevent and respond to such actions as quickly as possible. We strive for full transparency of operations. These principles guide all members of the Polish Humanitarian Action team.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>
