The situation in southern Poland is dramatic, especially in the Lower Silesia, Opole and Silesia provinces. Broken bridges, damaged or overflowing dams and a huge amount of rainwater have already caused catastrophic damages in many towns, and the weather is still unstable. More rainfall and further rise in river levels are predicted due to heavy downpours in Czechia.<\/p>\n

Due to the tragic flood and serious damages in southern Poland, we are launching essential immediate assistance.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n

Our activities are divided into three stages. The first is immediate aid – we provided it at the very beginning, in the first days of the floods. At that time, the affected people mainly needed clean drinking water and nonperishable food, as well as basic hygiene and cleaning products. At that time, we began cooperation with, among others, the local TRATWA Association, as well as with local authorities in the flooded villages.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Cleaning up the damage <\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

By the second day, we had already moved on to stage two, the removal of damage. As the water level receded, in some of the flooded localities, it was products for cleaning, removing mud and debris that became the most necessary. That’s why we supplied debris bags, water canisters, brushes and cloths, as well as shovels, buckets, large garbage bags or surface disinfectants. Any personal protective equipment, such as wellingtons, work gloves or waders, proved to be very important.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At that point, we also launched our teams of mobile assistants to provide psychological first aid – due to difficult and stressful experiences, many people also need this form of support. Such teams reached and are still reaching the flood-affected villages directly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Currently, the cleanup and drying of flooded buildings is still underway. We are donating dehumidifiers, ozonators and heaters. We are preparing deliveries of household appliances (washing machines, refrigerators and microwaves) and fuel. We have also delivered one water purification station to Klodzko at the request of Klodzko Waterworks, and have already ordered another such machine for Nysa.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Rebuilding<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Stage three, or reconstruction, is still ahead of us. We have purchased sludge pumps and are waiting for other products needed by firefighters in their work, and we are also looking into the possibility of donating building materials and making repairs and renovations in day care centers, schools, kindergartens or nurseries, including facilities where our Pajacyk program is implemented. We also plan to launch activities in the area of psychosocial support for children and adults (including in G\u0142ucho\u0142azy, L\u0105dek-Zdr\u00f3j, Lewin Brzeski, Skorogoszcz and Trzebieszowice).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]\n
