The situation of the population is drastically deteriorates, 69% of the population lives in extreme poverty, and the average food prices are already eight times higher than they used to be. During the sieges of Homs, Aleppo, Ghouta cities and regions of the country, water, road infrastructure, hospitals and schools have been devastated and many still are. According to UN data, <strong>13.1 million of Syrians need humanitarian aid.<\/strong> Many families are completely dependent on external aid.<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT WE DO?<\/h3>\n<p>Right now Polish Humanitarian Action brings systematicly daily help to over 100,000 people in the provinces of Idlib and Hama, focusing primarily on providing access to water and food. PAH employees deliver water to camps for internally displaced people, build pumping stations, latrines and hand washing points, distribute food packages.<\/p>\n<p>Polish Humanitarian Action runs a permanent mission in Syria since 2013 and supports thousands of families directly in the war-torn country every day.<\/p>\n<h3>450 000 people received help in 2017.<\/h3>\n<p>At the moment the humanitarian needs are being assessed by PAH\u2019s Emergency Response Team. We are gathering information about the situation in eastern Ghouta on an ongoing basis and review possibilities of cooperation with other humanitarian organizations. Helping people who have been affected by situation in Ghouta is our priority \u2013 regardless of whether we deliver it directly in the city or to internally displaced people. We will keep you informed on further actions that will be undertaken by the Polish Humanitarian Action.<\/p>\n<p>Systematic help and quick start-up of activities is possible thanks to the support of the Polish society. In December 2016, PAH immediately responded to the needs of the evacuated inhabitants of eastern Aleppo.
