After 14 years of war, Syria is still grappling with one of the world\u2019s longest-running humanitarian crises. More than 16.5 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian aid \u2013 the majority of whom are women and children. Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad\u2019s regime in December 2024, around 5.5 million Syrians have remained internally displaced within their own country. According to UN figures, as many as 60 per cent of the population are facing food insecurity, and over 90 per cent of Syrians are living below the poverty line.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The project aims to meet the urgent food needs of the households most vulnerable to the effects of the crisis in the town of Al-Latamina, in the Hama Governorate in north-western Syria. Based on a comprehensive assessment of needs, food aid in the form of e-vouchers will be provided to 1,350 households, enabling them to purchase basic foodstuffs from selected local retailers.<\/p>\n

The project will be implemented in three distribution rounds, ensuring immediate access to food for the families most in need. Priority will be given to households headed by single parents, older people, children, people with chronic illnesses and people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

In total, the support will cover around 6,750 people (1,350 households).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n
