Your responsibilities:
- Respond to humanitarian crises (draft recommendations; respond in the field: directly, through PAH missions or implementing partners);
- Develop and implement an emergency response strategy in cooperation with Manager of Field Operations and Global Head of Programs;
- Initiate establishment of new missions in accordance with the strategy and Mission opening guidelines;
- Ad hoc mission support in project implementation and needs assessment;
- Analyze global situation in humanitarian context, write reports and recommendations;
- Develop high-quality project applications and / or project concepts including budgets;
- Develop and expand local and international partnerships based on the needs of the country;
- Coordination with key stakeholders, e.g. government authorities, donors and humanitarian partners, humanitarian clusters;
- Contribute to (or prepare) the annual emergency department budget, field operations department budget;
- Monitors the implementation, finalization and reporting of the projects implemented by partners or her/his subordinates;
- Contributes to preparation of accounting and financial documentation in relation to emergency activities;
- Review and preparation of internal documents (policies, manuals, operational plans, guidelines, forms);
- Representation of PAH outside (media, conferences, meetings with key stakeholders, consortia);
- Implements security and safety procedures, monitors security and safety situation in the areas of intervention, closely cooperates with the Global Security Advisor
- Share knowledge and experience, prepare and conduct internal training sessions for the PAH staff
Our requirements:
- At least 2 years of humanitarian/developing working experience;
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
- University degree (education in management / political sciences / ethnology / anthropology will be an asset);
- High mobility and being ready to travel;
- Good level of MS Office skills;
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills;
- At least one additional language on intermediate level (Arabic, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, French);
- Experience in working in hard conditions (conflict/post disaster settings) would be an advantage;
- Strong cultural awareness.
