Washing your hands with soap and water is one of the simplest applications involving the spread of diseases and infections! 💦🧼 In Somalia, our hygiene promoters educate people about proper hand washing techniques and increase awareness of how to protect yourself from Covid-19. 🔴 In Iraq, of the 6 million people displaced during the conflict, 4.7 million have returned to areas of origin, while 1.3 million people remain displaced. There still remains a significant need to support those still displaced with humanitarian assistance....
In Somalia, 2.6 million people became internally displaced due to armed conflicts and climate changes. They seek shelter in camps like this one. Here our organization maintains adequate sanitation and access to safe water. It's essential to provide safe living conditions in such a difficult situation. In South Sudan, gender-based violence is one of the greatest threats to the health and life of women and girls. As part of our activities, we create "Women Friendly Spaces". These are places where women can feel safe, where they can freely spend time together. In these spaces, women can also get support from our assistants and report cases of gender-based violence. Project in cooperation with SSHF OCHA.
💦 In Iraq, we provide access to water in camps for internally displaced persons. Water quality is monitored daily by local employees who have been trained in this area. This way, we can be sure that the water we provide is clean and safe, and employed, local people can earn a living and gain new skills.
