Jackson Mungoniback

Jackson holds a BSc. in Agricultural Engineering Honours (University of Zimbabwe, 1999), an MSc. in Development Studies (Women’s University in Africa, Zimbabwe, 2013) and a Master in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Action (Kalu Institute, Spain, 2015). Jackson has done several other short trainings in project management, environmental impact assessment, strategic management, humanitarian response planning and leadership. Jackson has had experience in integrated water resources management, irrigation design and management, integrated natural resources management, emergency programme management in WASH, Shelter/NFIs, food security and livelihoods, nutrition, food for assets, agricultural markets and value chains, and programme development and management.

Jackson has experience in water resources and irrigation design and management he gained working with the Regional Water Authority (now Zimbabwe National Water Authority) and the Department of Irrigation, Ministry of Lands and Agriculture in Zimbabwe from 1999 to 2002. He had a stint with international NGOs in Zimbabwe including Catholic Relief Services working as a Food for Assets Projects Engineer in Zimbabwe and later as an Interim Food for Assets Program Manager in Lesotho (2002-2005); Concern Worldwide as a Field Office Manager (2005-2006); International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as Project Manager (2006-2009), and Action Contre la Faim as a Deputy Urban WASH Program Manager (later Urban WASH Program Manager). He also worked as a Field Manager (Irrigation Projects) on a multi-million dollar USAID-funded programme implemented by Fintrac Incorporated in Zimbabwe. He also did consultancy work for IUCN in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Malawi end of 2009 to beginning of 2010.

In 2014, Jackson moved to South Sudan to work with Action Against Hunger as WASH Program Manager on the US$4 million OFDA-funded program until mid-2015 when he joined Save the Children International still in South Sudan to manage the US$5 million multi-sector Jonglei Food Security Programme implemented in consortium with Catholic Relief Services. In mid-2016, he joined PAH South Sudan Mission as the Head of Programmes until end of July 2017. Jackson has been the Head of Mission for the South Sudan Mission since August 2017.
