The Polish Humanitarian Action supports internally displaced people in Gaza Strip by helping them restore access to clean, safe-to-use water.
PAH’s project in Gaza Strip is about the provision of water to around 88,844 internally displaced people seeking shelter in 35 evacuation centres (Designated Emergency Shelters – DESs) that are managed by UNRWA. The supplied water is tested by two laboratory technicians to ensure that bacteriological safety standards are met. Technicians are paid for their work, which will improve the living conditions of their families.
Activities will be closely monitored and reviewed to ensure top-quality humanitarian aid in accordance with humanitarian standards.
The project activities include:
- Provision of water by water tank trucks to 35 evacuation centres managed by UNRWA
- Testing of supplied water by two laboratory technicians
The aim of the project is to improve living conditions, to reduce health risks and to provide safety, dignity and protection for those affected by the war in Gaza Strip – in particular women, children and people with disabilities.
Altogether, aid will reach around 88,844 people.
