A humanitarian catastrophe of unimaginable proportions is taking place in the Gaza Strip. Literally everything is in short supply, and the blockade of humanitarian supplies is causing famine to spread in Gaza and the number of people who have died as a result is increasing.
Currently, Gaza’s more than 2 million residents reside in just 14% of its territory. The rest are under military action or successive displacement orders. Many people have already had to abandon their homes and temporary shelters several times. Since October 3, 2023, at least 60,000 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip, although these statistics may be significantly underestimated.

The famine is getting worse every day:
Overcrowding and lack of safe space create a huge epidemic threat. Under the extreme conditions currently prevailing in Gaza, it is difficult to maintain even basic hygiene. There is a shortage of clean water – which is essential for fighting hunger, there is very little food, shelter and medical care. Thousands of trucks with essential humanitarian aid are still waiting at the border. In recent days, a small number have been allowed into the Strip, but this – like the airdrops of aid – is a negligible drop in a vast sea of needs.
