The initiative also supports local civil society organizations (CSOs), helping them respond better to changing environmental conditions and to act more effectively during emergencies.

The project combines educational activities, practical training and the installation of modern early warning infrastructure to support communities in:

• ensuring stable access to clean water,
• improving agricultural productivity,
• strengthening disaster response skills.

The project activities are focused around two main goals:

1. Improvement of adaptive agriculture and sustainable water management among agricultural workers in five IDP camps.
2. This includes information campaigns (written, graphic, and verbal), community meetings, radio programmes and other initiatives.
3. Reinforcement of the capacity of local organizations and institutions to prepare for emergencies and respond effectively, which leads to a reduction of health and safety risks.

As part of the project, PAH and its local partner NAHR will organize training, provide the necessary equipment and facilities and carry out maintenance work in the Ma’rib dam area.

All activities are interconnected – for example, new weather stations will not only support emergency response, but will also provide farmers with up-to-date weather data, making it easier for them to adapt to climate change. In addition, the cleaning of irrigation canals will improve both agricultural efficiency and flood safety.

Ultimately, the project will help communities cope with the impact of climate change, protect natural resources and build sustainable resilience, promoting a balance between the maintenance of the population and environmental protection.
