Around the world, millions of children are growing up in conditions that deprive them of safety, health, and the chance to have a normal childhood. It is estimated that one in five children lives in areas affected by armed conflict or has been forced to leave their home.
The crisis affecting children today also has a less visible side. In countries with high GDP, the deteriorating mental health of children and adolescents is becoming an increasingly serious challenge. In Poland, 17% of children experience symptoms of depression or anxiety. Last year, the helpline for children and adolescents received nearly 80,000 calls.
Polish Humanitarian Action provides aid to children around the world – from food, water, and safe shelter to psychological support.
For over 33 years, we have been working in regions affected by conflict and disasters, providing water, food, and safe shelter. We also provide food and psychological support to children in Poland through the Pajacyk program.
