• In Somalia, more than 3.3 million people are internally displaced, and the main cause of most forced displacements is currently a lack of water
• In Kenya, 3.3 million people do not have enough food
• In Madagascar, over half a million children suffer from severe malnutrition

In countries such as South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya and Madagascar, parents struggle every day to find water for their children. Will there be enough food until the next harvest? Will they manage to survive the next drought, flood or another day away from the home they had to leave behind?

A lack of access to clean water means more than just thirst. It also means illness, hunger and more hours spent looking for it instead of at school or at work.

But this story can have a happy ending.

Thanks to the support of people like you, entire communities are regaining access to water and food, gradually rebuilding their self-sufficiency.

That is why, together with you:

• We drill new wells and repair existing ones that are in disrepair

• We provide training to residents of refugee camps on hygiene and the safe use of water

• we build sand dams and water intake points

• we organise vocational training courses 

• we support farmers and livestock breeders who are vulnerable to the effects of climate change (droughts or floods)

• we provide hygiene products and sanitary kits for women
