WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Working at Polish Humanitarian Action means working with teams from Poland, Ukraine, East African countries and other corners of the world. This requires our employees to have interpersonal, intercultural and language skills.

We are looking for professionals who have experience working in the humanitarian, development, and non-governmental sectors, as well as in a wide variety of fields such as finance, logistics, HR and accounting. Prospective PAH employees should feel at home in an environment that requires quick decision-making according to procedures and delivering specific work results.

Helping is a responsibility. That is why our work is guided by values, which include:

  • humanitarism
  • impartiality
  • neutrality
  • independence

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEERING TEAM

If you feel you are a perfect match for PAH and would like to support us as a volunteer (in Poland only), please fill in the open application, which is available here. By doing so, you will submit your details to our volunteer base and you will be contacted when the opportunity arises.  If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact recruitment@pah.org.pl.

WHAT IS THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS LIKE AT PAH?
Selection of applications

Our recruitment team analyses the resumes and application forms submitted by candidates in order to find the best fit.Experience in the NGO and humanitarian sectors, along with relevant motivation to work in an aid organisation are crucial for us.

Telephone interview and recruitment task

The first stage is a short telephone interview (which takes approximately 20 minutes). The recruiter asks the candidate(s) a few questions and then outlines the position and presents our organisation. We encourage you to ask questions, which we will be happy to answer during this conversation. In the next stage, we may ask you to carry out a recruitment task (for instance an Excel test, a case study or a presentation on a given topic) – this is applicable to selected recruitment processes.

Job interview

You will meet your potential manager, the recruiter and – in some cases – other PAH experts. During the interview, we will ask you about your work experience to date, find out what is important to you and what you expect from PAH as an employer. We usually conduct these interviews via MS Teams, but we are also happy to meet you in person at our office.

Meeting with the Managing Director

The Managing Director would like to learn more about your personality and intercultural competencies as well as assess your fit with our organisational culture.

Meeting with a psychologist

Candidates applying for positions that require travelling to areas where we carry out relief activities meet with a psychologist at the final stage of the recruitment process. The psychologist verifies their readiness for travel – mental fortitude, teamwork skills and the ability to analyse and assess the situation at hand.

See what people who are or were part of our Team say about working at Polish Humanitarian Action.
Marta Wawrzyniak
Programme Coordinator Kenya Country Office
Working at PAH means being part of an international team, where diverse experiences and skills can inspire me. It is also an opportunity for personal and professional development, as it enables employees to learn from each other and explore different ways of thinking.
Anthony Mutisya
Operations officer, Kenia
In my job, I can provide humanitarian aid to my fellow human beings. Every time we are in the field and receive feedback from our beneficiaries about how we have transformed their lives, it gives me more energy to continue with my job
Marzena Latek
Accountant, Poland
PAH is like a second home to me, where I encounter support, understanding, a fantastic atmosphere, and wonderful people. Trips to regional offices, face-to-face meetings with different cultures, behaviors, and languages have shown me that we are different but at the same time, alike. This is what motivates me to continue working at PAH, building my career and expanding my skills.
Andrew Glenn
Former program coordinator of financial support and food aid, Ukraine
The best part of PAH is the people. My biggest motivation, by far, is the drive to be of service to something bigger than myself. I worked in corporate jobs for years, and it wasn't for me.
