WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Working at Polish Humanitarian Action means working with teams from Poland, Ukraine, East African countries and other corners of the world. This requires our employees to have interpersonal, intercultural and language skills.

We are looking for professionals who have experience working in the humanitarian, development, and non-governmental sectors, as well as in a wide variety of fields such as finance, logistics, HR and accounting. Prospective PAH employees should feel at home in an environment that requires quick decision-making according to procedures and delivering specific work results.

Helping is a responsibility. That is why our work is guided by values, which include:

  • humanitarism
  • impartiality
  • neutrality
  • independence

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEERING TEAM

If you feel you are a perfect match for PAH and would like to support us as a volunteer (in Poland only), please fill in the open application, which is available here. By doing so, you will submit your details to our volunteer base and you will be contacted when the opportunity arises.  If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact recruitment@pah.org.pl.

WHAT IS THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS LIKE AT PAH?
Selection of applications

At this stage, we are reviewing CVs and application forms to select candidates who best match the profile. Experience in the NGO and humanitarian sectors, along with relevant motivation to work in an aid organisation are crucial for us.

Telephone interview

In a short phone interview (approximately 30 minutes), we ask the candidate a few questions regarding their motivation, experience, and intercultural competencies to assess their fit with our organizational culture. We then present the position and the next steps in the recruitment process.

Recruitment task

For selected recruitments, candidates are also invited to complete a recruitment task (e.g., a case study, an Excel skills test, etc.).

Job interview

You will meet your potential manager, the recruiter and – in some cases – other PAH experts. During the interview, we will ask you about your work experience to date, find out what is important to you and what you expect from PAH as an employer. We usually conduct these interviews via MS Teams, but we are also happy to meet you in person at our office.

Meeting with a psychologist

Candidates applying for positions that require travelling to areas where we carry out relief activities meet with a psychologist at the final stage of the recruitment process. The psychologist verifies their readiness for travel – mental fortitude, teamwork skills and the ability to analyse and assess the situation at hand.

Anna Konior
Grants & Partnerships Coordinator, PAH HQ
I wanted to work in the NGO sector because of my education – I am a graduate of International Relations – but also because of my motivation to pursue a profession that brings real change. PAH and its activities align perfectly with these goals. I feel that I learn something new every day. I enjoy the opportunity to collaborate with amazing people at PAH and partner organizations.
Eileen Wandera
Head Of Operations, PAH Somalia and Kenya
Working with PAH has been truly eye-opening. I’ve had the opportunity to learn and grow, while also sharing my knowledge and supporting my colleagues. I greatly appreciate that the organization recognizes individual strengths and knows how to make the most of them.
Stanisław Matysiak
Internal Audit Specialist, PAH HQ
While looking for a job, I came across an interview with a PAH employee – and that encouraged me to apply. This is my first job in a humanitarian organization, but my previous experience matched the requirements for the position I was interested in. Working here means providing aid in a thoughtful way. The world will only be better if we understand each other more, and the best way to achieve that is by working together toward a common goal.
Maryna Krasnova
Head of Office, PAH Ukraine, Kharkiv
My greatest motivation is being with my team, in my city, in my country – right where I am most needed. I am glad that I can serve my community during such a difficult time. War is a terrible experience; sometimes it feels like a horror story, but even in these moments, hope can be found – for me, that hope is PAH.
